Columns are structural, crucial, required even! A pillar is special because it can stand on it's own. It's sole purpose could be to commemorate something. It still has to be soundly constructed, but it doesn't have to bear an outside load. That's kind of what we're going for here. You are a pillar. In your family, at work, community... you've been forged out of your experiences, achievements, losses, heartbreak and so on. All of this culminating in the creation the impressive structure that is you. Everything that has gone into this process isn't lost. It's all a part of you; good, bad, or indifferent. Draw from your inherent strength and make a positive change in the world. Even if that positivity is just you showing off that you're awesome! You can serve as an example of what is possible. What it looks like to overcome everything that you have. And, maybe most importantly, that it can look like whatever you want.
